HydroSeeding
Hydroseeding is THE fastest way to plant a lush, green lawn. It costs just slightly more than older methods of seeding and mulching (using hay) and is about one-fourth the cost of laying sod. Your lawn will be hydroseeded with a tested, high quality turf mix. Unlike traditional straw mulch (which is loaded with weed seed), hydroseed mulch has NO weed seeds. Your hydroseeded lawn will come up much faster than dry seed and there is no worry about whether it will "take" when sod is used. Hydroseeding does not contain all of the risks and maintenance associated with installing a real sod lawn.

How do I know whether I should have my new lawn hydroseeded, seeded with dry seed, or have a sod lawn installed?
Seeding - the ground with out any protection from birds or the elements with no mulch can be a cheap way to get grass to grow, but due to the birds and the wind you could end up with a splotchy looking lawn.
Hydroseeding - with a low level of mulch can be a cost effective way to spread a large amount of seed. It may be needed to stay within a cost budget, but it tends to be hit or miss as far as the results are concerned.
Sodding - will allow you to install a wonderful looking lawn in a matter of hours, yet the least expensive sod often runs more than double the price of premium hydro-mulching. If you get the premium grasses and a certified clean sod you can safely assume your cost will easily be 3 times as much as the premium hydro-mulching.
Premium hydro-mulching (the system we install) - can allow you to have a growing healthy lawn in 3-4 weeks. The premium hydro-mulching is considerably less than the price of sodding. If irrigation and good soil conditions are present and you are looking for a sod quality turf, hydro-mulching is the most logical and economical choice for establishing a nice lawn.
What exactly is hydroseeding?
The whole process starts by mixing mulch, seed, fertilizer, and water together in the large holding tank of the hydro-mulching machine. The produced material, often referred to as a slurry, is then pumped out of the tank through a hose and sprayed onto the ground. Once the papier-mâché textured product is applied to the ground it enhances the initial growth by creating a micro-environment beneficial to the germination of the seed.
Hydroseeding allows you to get a uniform looking shade and texture on the finished lawn. The more manicured the area being seeded, the more smooth the finished lawn will be. Golf courses often use hydroseeding to acquire the smooth surface they require.
Although the hydro-mulch material itself is weed free, weed seeds are almost always present in the soil. When the soil gets all the fertilization and moisture from the hydroseeding process, weeds may appear.
What are the results?
For the germination of the seed to be fast, a warm and moist condition is ideal. Seed bed condition also determine the growth rates after germination. Once you get all the conditions ideal, you could have excellent coverage in about three to four weeks and it will be at the point where it requires mowing. In the absolute best of conditions you could plant a football field and have it ready to play on in around 90 days. On the other hand if your conditions are less favorable, it could take several months or even up to a year to establish a healthy lawn.
